Vision X, the Seattle, US-based LED lighting manufacturer, has appointed Control Instruments-Automotive the sole distributor of its range of low-energy LED lighting products for the mining, military, engineering, industrial, security, agriculture and 4×4 markets.

Leonard Chester, Vision X product manager at Control Instruments-Automotive, said the Vision X brand is used in numerous organisations around the world including NASA and has built a worldwide reputation for quality and reliability.

“It has succeeded in winning military and NASA contracts based on its advanced design and extensive product offering which includes the world’s widest LED lighting range. Vision X is also able to manufacture custom made lights to almost any specification,” said Chester.

The products use Vision X’s patented Prime Drive technology integrated into the circuitry giving prolonged LED life, enhanced reliability and expanded light output. The LEDs produce nearly twice the light as normal LEDs and include Vision X’s Electronic Thermal Management (ETM) technology to keep the lights at safe low-operating temperatures. ETM includes enhanced optics that optimise beam distance and depth giving the LED its full 50 000 hour potential.

The LED glass is break-proof and NASA has tested the lights at -197° celsius as well as in zero atmospheric pressure where they continued to operate. The lights have also passed the Ingress Protection test for water and dust, Isolux Testing for lumens measured at a distance and for vibration testing.

Vision X is also the first LED company to release a single 2-inch LED light as well as solar powered units that use Co₂ LED globes. A range of low-voltage replacement bulbs will also be made available locally.

The products will be available directly from Control Instruments-Automotive or for the 4×4 market from Safari Centre branches countrywide. All the products come with a three year warranty.
